Mash up

I served up one too many of these delicious plates of bangers and mash.....if anyone would like it, just get in touch via this blog and I'll give you the code to open the iOven. if you don't have it
I can heartily recommend it...it'll be on the Apple site under free software. The meal should be fine for 24 hours, but it might dry out a bit after that....

Pick up a p..p...p...p... P Bass

As well as nearing completion of the fantastic 'secret' project, I have had Jamie Goddard (above) and Rich Somers (below) working with me on their new material this week. I would like to commend Jamie for his fire tending skills......

Rich is pretty good at tea.....(Rich Tea obviously) and guitar.... http://www.richsomers.com/

I'm accidentally-on-purpose using my good friend Dave Selby's P bass on most things that are getting worked on...it's got what Phil Williams describes as a 'brown' sound, which really encapsulates it perfectly. The space it takes up in an arrangement might not suit everything, but simply knowing it's there to pick up has had quite an effect on my approach to making
'finished' recordings...
As Christmas is now just around the corner I'm taking a little break like everyone else and concentrating 2 million percent on the really important thing...family. Happy Christmas to anyone reading this...and everyone else too (except murderers and dictators...obviously...and not sure about bankers....)

Fully grown male bison

It's not every day you walk into your studio to be confronted with a fully grown male bison. Luckily that hasn't happened to me yet. My main worry, were there a bison in the studio, would be (1) knocking over of delicate microphones on stands and that kind of thing.....followed by (2) being fatally trampled. When you've got to get things ready for an artist arriving at 11 o clock to do some vocals, you have to be focussed on that and that alone....so, I tell you all, as much as I tell myself, that if you want results, you really need to put all thoughts of bisons right out of your mind....
